Badal terms Akhand Akali Dal a 'branch' of Congress

Dera Baba Nanak, Oct 26 (UNI) Terming the newly formed Akhand Akali Dal a branch of the Congress, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the sole purpose of this Akali Dal was to help the Congress by weakening the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
Interacting with the mediapersons on the sidelines of sangat darshan programme in Dera Baba Nanak assembly segment, he said the timing of formation of this new Akali Dal was a ploy of anti-panth forces to cut the share of Akali Dal by misleading the people.
Mr Badal said during past few years, no one had even heard the name of the leaders of this party but now they have mushroomed up for benefitting the Congress in ensuing polls. However, he said that the wise voters of state would never fall prey to the false propaganda of these parties.
