Badal gives nod to constitute Wakf Board

Chandigarh, Feb 8 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has givan nod to constitute a Wakf Board in the state as required under Section 14 of the Wakf Act, 1995, as amended in 2013.
A spokesperson for the Chief Minister’s Office said the file to this effect was cleared by the Chief Minister last evening.
As per the decision, F Nesara Khatoon (Farzana Alam) would be the member from MLA category, Janaab Gazi Mohammed Umair from Bar Council while, Syed Sadiq Hussain Naqvi and Janaab Shamim Ahmad Qazim would represent Shia and Sunni scholars in the board and Showkat Ahmad Parray, IAS, has been included from government officer category.
