New Delhi, Jun 24 (UNI) Former Chief Economic Advisor Dr Arvind Subramanian said that backlash from globalisation, climate change and environmental concerns will be the three major trends that will influence country's economy.
Dr Subramanian at a Convocation ceremony of private Ashoka University held on Saturday said, “Three major trends will influence India’s economy. Firstly, due to backlash from globalisation the flow of people between countries will no longer be easy, especially in the US and Western Europe. Secondly, climate change and environmental concerns will lead to a shortage of resources that we have been taking for granted."
"For India this would mean worsening air pollution, water shortage and the stress on land resources. Finally, human capital will be aggravated by technology under the 4th Industrial Revolution where providing jobs for all will be a huge challenge,” he added.
