Babushaan Mohanty join hands with Ashutosh Rana for mythology-backed action drama

Mumbai, June 12 (UNI) Following the remarkable success of "Bou Buttu Bhuta", Odia star Babushaan Mohanty is set to collaborate with one of Indian cinema's premier character actors, Ashutosh Rana, on a new-age action drama that draws inspiration from Indian mythology.
The project will be directed by Chinmay Das, with the makers expected to formally unveil the film on July 16.
Mohanty's new movie is based on the tale of Lord Krishna's Narayani Sena mentioned in the Mahabharata. The huge army of Lord Krishna fought for the Kauravas in the war. It is believed that the invincible army had one million elite soldiers. The film's story is rooted in the divine beliefs of that state, in which a warrior is transported to a different era.
Further details about the yet-untitled film are expected to be announced soon. Chinmay Das is best known for directing the 2024 Odia movie "Parab," which was a social drama. He has also made a few short films in the past, according to Variety India.
The actor's 2025 horror thriller "Bou Buttu Bhuta", directed by Jagdish Mishra, emerged as one of the biggest regional success stories of the year. This film was made on a budget of Rs 2 crore, amassed close to Rs 15 crores (nett) from its domestic and overseas collections as per Sacnilk. With a profit ratio exceeding 400 percent, it is considered one of the most successful regional films of 2025. UNI NST CDS
