Azhar to move high court challenging rejection of his candidature for HCA

Hyderabad, Jan 14 (UNI) An uneasy atmosphere prevailed all through the day both at the Gymkhana Ground and Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) from where the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) functions.
Tensions ran high as soon as K Rajiv Reddy, the Returning Officer for the January 17 elections to the new HCA body, rejected the candidature of former India captain Mohd Azharuddin, who had filed his nomination papers for the post of President after the incumbent Arshad Ayub was disqualified.
Apparently, the unease was because of the varying stands taken by the two contesting panels and the returning officer himself.
