AYUSH min issues advisory for nCoV prevention

New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) As fears over spread of Coronavirus spirals, research councils under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India have issued advisories asking the public to maintain personal hygiene, wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
As per Ayurvedic practices, the preventive management steps suggested include covering one's face during cough or sneeze and washing hands after coughing or sneezing. It also recommends cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces. Drinking Shadang Paniya (Musta, Parpat, Usheer, Chandan, Udeechya and Nagar) processed water (10 gm powder boiled in 1-litre water, until it reduces to half) has been advised. Then it can be stored in a bottle and drunk when thirsty.
However, it prefers that an N95 mask should be used by the public while travelling or working in public places to avoid droplet transmission. In the event of suspicion of Corona Viral infection, people are advised to wear a mask and contact the nearest hospital immediately.
