Panaji, Nov 13 (UNI) The 5th Ayurveda Day was celebrated in the State today. To mark the celebration, the Ayush Cell of the Directorate of Health Services organized a function at Seminar hall in the State Secretariat. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant who was the Chief guest inaugurated the programme.
Fifth Ayurveda Day is celebrated all over the country so also in Goa. The Government has earmarked 15 Day programme where in Ayurveda Day would be celebrated throughout the state in all 38 centers.
The Chief Minister, speaking on the occasion, underscored the need to make Goa wellness Hub. 'The Government aims to promote health tourism in the state. In neighbouring state like Kerala wellness tourism is booming, so we have to strive to organise programmes. There is need to open wellness ceneres as well. Wellness tourism is a sector where lot can be done and Goa can definitely be recognised as wellness destination,' he said, adding wellness tourism had wide scope with a lot many investors showing their willingness to invest for the said purpose in Goa.
