Awami League slams absence of Victory Day military parade for two years in a row

Dhaka, Dec 6 (UNI) Bangladesh's interim government, for the second year in a row, will not be holding the customary military parade during its observance of Victory Day on December 16, despite the country not facing any security threats.
Victory Day is a commemoration of the joint victory of the Indian military, and Bengali fighters of the Mukti Bahini over the Pakistan military in 1971, resulting in the creation of Bangladesh.
Slamming the move, the Awami League termed it as part of an active campaign by the Chief Advisor Md Yunus-led interim government to erase or rewrite the very history of the 1971 Liberation War, noting that the move aligned with a range of other actions, reflecting a broader pattern aimed at historical distortion.
