Autism and vaccines have no link, says WHO; debunks US CDC's claim

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Denying a causal link between vaccines and Autism, the World Health Organisation (WHO) refuted the claims recently made by the United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
WHO conducted a fresh analysis after the US federal health agency under Donald Trump modified the long-standing guidance document on vaccine safety. The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not evidence-based, the CDC stated, challenging the earlier advisory.
The new analysis done by the Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS), established in 1999, countered CDC claims. "..based on available evidence, no causal link exists between vaccines and autism spectrum disorders (ASD)," the global health body said in a statement, reaffirming WHO's position that childhood vaccines do not cause autism.
