Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Oct 14 2016 9:18PM Authorities decide to lodge FIR against encroachers in AndamanPort Blair, Oct 14 (UNI) Troubled by large scale encroachments of government land by local and outsider encroachers, the District Administration of South Andaman has now decided to lodge FIR against the encroachers.“Besides action under A&N Islands LR & LRR 1966 & Rules 1968, it has been decided that criminal proceedings will be initiated against those encroaching and FIRs will be registered,” an official caution releasedby South Andaman District Administration said here today.As per sources, in this regard, two FIRs have already been lodged against the unauthorised structures in South Andaman region.“All Patwaris have been directed to lodge FIR against the encroachers in similar cases,” the caution added.Meanwhile the South Andaman District Administration has cautioned general public to refrain from such encroachments and unauthorised activities.In recent year, there have been reports of encroachment in several urban and remote pockets of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, despite continuous encroachment removal drives.There were reports of arrest of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants from North Andaman’s Diglipur Islands, who had encroached land in North Andaman region.Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #Authorities decide to lodge FIR against encroachers in Andaman
