Australian telco Vocus receives green signal for TPG Telecom deal

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) TPG Telecom, a giant name in the domain of telecommunications, on Monday revealed that Vocus group has secured the acquisition of TPG’s enterprise, government, and fixed-line assets for US$3.42 billion.
Vocus Group Limited or Vocus Communications is a global name in the Telecommunications domain with sectoral specialization including businesses, consumers, and governments.
Primarily, the deal was announced in 2024 and received the nod from the Australian competition regulatory board, which is the ACCC ( Australian Competition and Consumer Commission), in March.
The ACCC is an independent commonwealth statutory watchdog responsible for overseeing the consumer protection laws. This clearance positioned Vocus Group as the largest owner of the Country’s underground fibre infrastructure.
TPG said in a statement, “The clearance which we got on Monday from the Foreign Investment Review Board was the final approval needed to proceed with the transaction ahead.”
TPG Telecom is a telecommunications major providing a diverse set of services. This company caters to different services, ranging from mobile, internet, and business solutions.
