Australia sentences Japanese tourist for possessing child pornography

Tokyo, May 27 (UNI) Australia on Monday sentenced a Japanese tourist to 16 months in jail for attempting to import child pornography into Australia.
As per a report by Kyodo news, the 31-year-old man had attempted to import child sex abuse material into Australia on his arrival at Perth, the capital of Western Australia in November. He had entered the country on a tourist visa.
Australian Border Force officers found approximately 200 videos and images depicting the sexual abuse of children on the phone of the accused, further examination of the phone showed that he had hundreds of such abusive videos stored in an application.
