Melbourne, Sep 25 (UNI) Star allrounder Ellyse Perry has been ruled out of the opening game of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand starting on Saturday at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Australia captain Meg Lanning confirmed on Friday.
"She's still working through her return-to-play plan. When she ticks off all those markers, she'll be available, but she's still working through that so we won't see her tomorrow," Cricket.com.au quoted Lanning as saying.
The 29-year-old tore her hamstring during the Women's T20 World Cup earlier this year and underwent surgery in March. She has been on the road to recovery since then, with an aim to be fit for the home summer.
