Aurangabad sees highest single-day spike of 308 nCoV cases

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 9 (UNI) An additional 142 fresh Coronavirus cases were reported by Thursday afternoon, pushing the tally in the district to 308, the biggest spike ever, in a day.

It may noted that 166 patients were detected this morning in the district.
With this, the total of corona positive cases has suddenly jumped to 7,646, district administration sources said here this afternoon.
Also, five Corona patients also succumbed at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) since last night raising death toll to 335 so far.
Of the 142 patients, 88 are from Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and 54 from rural areas which includes 90 males and 52 females.
A total of 4,033 patients have been cured.
Currently, as many as 3,278 were undergoing treatment, they further said.
Those succumbed include a 56-year-old man from Karadi Mohalla in Paithan taluka, an 80-year-old woman from Ganesh Colony in Aurangabad, 42-year-old man from Sillekhana, 74-year-old man from Arish colony and a 55-year-old male from Kannad taluka.
Of the total 335 deaths, 262 took place in GMCH, 79 in various private hospitals and 2 in the district general hospital, as per the sources.
