Aurangabad Dist Collector goes harsh on SC, ST prevention act violators

Aurangabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Aurangabad District Collector Sunil Chavan on Monday directed that atrocities committed under the Prevention of Atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act should be investigated and legal process should be completed expeditiously.

Presiding a meeting of District Vigilance and Control Committee at Collectorate he said that in cases of crimes committed under the Prevention of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Act, 1989 and the Amended Act, 1995, financial assistance should be made available to the victims promptly as per the provisions of the Act.
