At last Delhi gets rain, triggers traffic snarls

New Delhi, Jul 15 (UNI) Heavy rain lashed the national capital on Monday accompanied with gutsy winds, finally bringing much needed respite from a prolonged spell of hot, sultry weather.
The national capital received a good amount of rainfall till evening. According to the weatherman, they recorded 29 mm at Safdarjung, 26 mm at Palam, 23 mm at Lodhi Road and 13 mm at the Ridge.
Delhiites were desperately waiting for the showers as they witnessed muggy weather despite clouds. Youngsters had a field day and were seen posting pictures and videos of showers lashing the city in different parts over the social media.
