Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) Carrying on with its ‘Startup Elevator Pitch Series,’ to be held in 12 cities, the ASSOCHAM Launchpad, an initiative and platform for budding entrepreneurs will be in the heart of Northern India-Chandigarh on Friday, October 18th at the Indian School of Business (ISB) campus at Mohali.
The ASSOCHAM Launchpad would provide a golden chance to upcoming startups in the city beautiful to meet world class mentors, investors, companies having decades of industry experience who would help give a better shape to their business idea and pitch for funding and technology partners to generate business opportunities.
The Jury members for Chandigarh round are Mr Anil Khaitan chairman, ASSOCHAM Startup Council, Mr Ashish Agrawal, Co-Chairman, Ms Tripti S. Shinghal, Co-Chairperson and Mr J.D. Ghai, Founder, santabanta.com.
“The ASSOCHAM Startup Launchpad will give the budding startups in the tricity an access to industry experts who can give them the guidance they need on business, product, marketing and also connect them with right people that can help with funding process and proper guidance on how to setup business case for funding,” said Mr Khaitan.
He said 'the ASSOCHAM Startup Launchpad Program complements as well as supports Government of India’s flagship initiative of ‘Startup India,’ thereby supporting the spurring startup ecosystem of the country. For this event we have received over 100 applications from Punjab and nearby regions and have shortlisted 15 startups from twin categories of 0-2 years and 3-5 years who would pitch their business ideas. Top three startups will be invited to participate in Grand Finale in New Delhi, he added.
Sharing more details about the event, he informed that the launchpad works a little like a commercial incubator whereby people share their business ideas with ASSOCHAM Startup Council initially. Then, when a business plan is formed they meet with program mentors and local businesses in their industry.
Thirty six finalists (three each to be selected from 12 cities) are expected to present their ideas at the grand finale in February 2020 in Delhi, of which the top three will be selected. There are prizes worth Rs 1.5 Cr to be won. While top five startups will get $5000 each from Amazon Web Service, next 15 startups will get $2000 and the next 80 will get $1000 worth credits.
Besides this, PayTM will provide payment gateway boosters i.e. Rs one lakh of free payment gateway transactions for 12 months to top three startups in each city. Offering $2500 credit for Superb Cloud to all startups. Cloud telephony solutions worth Rs 28,500 to all associated startups of growth centers, at zero-cost for six months.
