Guwahati, Dec 13 (UNI) The main Opposition parties of Assam, Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), have demanded a special session of the state Legislative Assembly to discuss the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, (CAB), as protests against the legislation continued to rock the state with indefinite curfew in four places, including Guwahati, and internet services remained suspended.
Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami, on receiving the requests, said that he will meet the chief minister in this regard today itself.
Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia of the Congress has written to the Speaker yesterday, urging for a special session of the House.
