Assembly election in Telangana ends on peaceful note

Hyderabad, Nov 30 (UNI) The single-phase election for 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana concluded peacefully on Thursday evening.

The polling process concluded at 1700 hours in 106 constituencies, while in 13 Naxalism-affected constituencies, it concluded an hour earlier.

Election authorities are allowing voters who were in queues before 1700 hours to exercise their franchise.

In the 2018 assembly elections, the voter turnout was recorded at 73 per cent.

The counting of votes is scheduled for December 3, coinciding with four other states where Assembly elections were held in the last few weeks.
