Assembly adjourned for the day over police lathicharge

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 20 (UNI) Kerala Assembly was adjourned for the day on Wednesday following unruly scenes as Opposition Congress-led UDF members disrupted the proceedings and entered the Speaker's podium in protest against the denial of an adjournment motion over the police lathicharge in which Shafi Parambil sustained a head injury during KSU's Assembly March on Tuesday.
Congress member VT Balram, who sought the leave of the House to move the adjournment motion in this regard, said the MLA was the victim of police atrocities showing inhuman nature of police in the State.
Demanding action against the police officials involved in the lathicharge, Opposition members-- Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath, Angamaly MLA Roji M John and Sultan Bathery MLA I.C Balakrishnan entered the podium, shouted slogans, raised banners, placards and shown the blood-stained clothes of the injured MLA.
