Assault on FC Goa fan: Congress demands boycotting of FC Goa Match

Panaji, Nov 11 (UNI) After a local youth and his parents were allegedly beaten up by on-duty police personnel after a football match in Goa on November 8, the Congress in the state on Sunday demanded boycotting of FC Goa's next Indian Super League (ISL) match.
Addressing a press conference at party state headquarters in the city, Goa Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar said the organisers of the event should give compensation to the fan and his family, who were from Anjuna village in North Goa.
"Goa Congress appeals to all FC Goa fans to boycott the upcoming ISL match in Goa in view of the merciless assault on a fan by the security personnel in-charge at the match on Thursday.. The organisers should give compensation to Lester D'Souza and his family as well as financial compensation for the mental and physical torture they had to undergo," Mr Mardolkar said.
