Assam wishes luck for its two semifinalist pugilists at world meet

Guwahati, Oct 11 (UNI) Sports enthusiasts of Assam are keenly awaiting for tomorrow’s semi-final bouts of Women’s World Championship being played in distant Ulan-Ude in Russia as two girls from this North Eastern state will be fighting it out in the ring.
Lovlina Borgohain and Jamuna Bora, both from Assam, are among the four Indian boxers in the semis, with fellow North Easterner and six-time world champion Mary Kom and debutant Manju Rani completing the line-up.
For Lovlina (69 kg) it will be an attempt to improve upon her bronze medal at the same event last year.
