Assam identifies 732 people from state in Nizamuddin area of Delhi; 16 COVID-19 cases so far

Guwahati, Apr 2 (UNI) Assam remained on edge on the ninth day of the 21-day nationwide lockdown to combat spread of COVID 19 as the number of people from the state who were in Nizamuddin area of Delhi last month crossed 700, with all 16 positive cases reported in the state so far having travel history of the Nizamuddin Markaz.
The total number of people from Assam who visited Nizamuddin Markaz or were in the area in March reached 732 as the state government compiled data from various sources, including Central government list and mobile phone tower tracing.
Informing this, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Out of these, we have been found that 229 people were just passing by the area or have not returned to the state so far. That means, we need to trace 503. Out of 503, we have already located 488 people and 395 are in quarantine. Swab samples of 361 people out of these have been tested.”
