Assam, Arunachal Guvs discuss bilateral issues

Itanagar, Sep 23 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has met Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at the Raj Bhavan, Kharghuli Hills, Guwahati on Friday and discussed bilateral issues including inter-state boundary and enhancing goodwill between the residents of both neighbouring states.
Governor Parnaik, who is on a two-day visit to Assam, commended the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Ministers for taking concrete initiatives to resolve the long-standing inter-state boundary issue, and opined that a conscientious approach will strengthen the age-old friendship among the people of the two Northeastern states.
The Governors also deliberated on various opportunities for collaboration between the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam for their mutual benefit, said a communiqué from the Raj Bhavan here on Saturday. Parnaik proposed increasing cultural and educational exchange programs to promote the rich culture of the region among the youth of both states.
