Gifu (Japan), Jun 8 (UNI) Indian athlete Jisna Mathew won gold in the women's 400m at the Asian Junior Athletics Championship on day 2 here on Friday.
Earlier, on day one India bagged five bronze medals.
Now India's medal tally is ten with two gold, one silver and seven bronze.
Jisna's timing was 53.26 second gaining gold in the 400m, however, she failed to surpass her personal best of 52.65.
While other Indians who won the medals were Sreeshankar covered 7.47 metres in long jump clinching bronze, Short putter Asish Bhalothia 18.22m bronze, In the women's high jump Abhinaya Shetty won bronze with an effort of 1.75 metres, Karthik Kumar stood third in the men's 10,000m event, and Durga Pramod also fetched bronze in the women's 1500m event clocking 4.24.56.
