Asian Games Bronze medalist Malaprabha accorded a warm welcome

Belagavi. Sep 2 (UNI) A warm welcome was accorded to Malapraba Yellappa Jadav, winner of Bronze in Kurash at the recently held in 18th Asian games at Jakarta, on her return to home town on Sunday.

Belagavi city Corporation (BCC) Mayor Basappa Chikkaladinni, Police Commissioner D C Rajappa, Deputy Commissioner S Ziaulla, Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake, among others felicitated lauding her achievement..

Police Commissioner Dr. D C Rajappa announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

Speaking to newsmen, she said that she will start preparing for Tokyo Olympics.

Complementing her, MLA Anil Benake said her native village Thuramari is a small village in Belagavi Taluk, but today it has figured in the World Map because of her achievement and all help will be extended to win Gold in Olympics.

Ms Malaprabha thanked her parents, school and college authorities and her Judo trainer Ms Triveni and Kurash trainer Jeetendra Singh for her achievement in the Asian Games.

19 year old Malaprabha Jadav speaking with media persons after her felicitation said that, "My vision is to win gold in Tokyo Olympic."

Thanking Union Sports Minister Rajwardhan Singh Rathod, she said all supports were given by the Sports Ministry. She wishes to get further training in Kurash sport in Uzbekistan.
