Ashwini Sharma takes charge as new Punjab BJP chief

Jalandhar, Jan 17 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Pathankot MLA Ashwini Sharma on Friday took charge as new president of the Punjab BJP here in the presence of all former Punjab BJP chiefs and impressive gathering of workers from across the state to witness the occasion. He replaced Shweit Malik who relinquished charge as chief of the Punjab BJP after he was elected new chief of the state BJP on Thursday as no other candidate had filed nominations papers for the election.
He thanked all the former Punjab BJP presidents for their guidance and motivating him to work for the strengthening the party to which he had earlier also served its Punjab unit chief from 2010 to 2013.
He asked the workers and leaders to shun their petty differences and work in unison to strengthen the party and go to the masses to full-fill the dream of 2022 elections to show congress the door. He said that sloganeering would not do any chrisma and rather hard work only will bring cheers to them when the party would come into power ousting congress.
