Ashok Leyland to strengthen base in North, launches ICV 'GURU’

Zirakpur, Punjab, Aug 8 (UNI) Seeing growth in mid category trucks in the country, Ashok Leyland Limited (ALL) has also made its entry in to the segment with its new Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) ‘GURU’ claiming it to be competitively priced and most fuel efficient truck in class.


Launching the ICV for the North market here today, ALL Global Trucks President Anuj Kathuria said, addressing the gap of Intermediate Commercial truck in its kitty the company has brought the highest actual 13 tonnes truck with seven to eight and half tonnes payload capacity to meet the needs of the customers of rated load category.


He said the ‘Guru’ comes fitted with Company’s latest innovation the ‘iEGR’ (Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology for BS-IV engines with best in class mileage. The cabin of the truck addresses the comfort, safety and all other needs of the driver including infotainment and easy operations, he added.


"We have national market share of around 33 per cent in bus and truck category and 2700 outlets in the country including 243 in North. We have started to strengthen our presence in the Northern region and will take the total number of outlets to over 300 by year end,“ Mr Kathuria said.


The company has also started ’workshop on wheel’ facility for its bulk customers to provide maintenance and real time assistance to their doorsteps. This has earned a good response from the customers in saving their time, money and hassles of taking the vehicles to the workshops, he said. UNI RKS SW SHK 1709
