New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) In what could be seen as an effort to dispel any impression of a lack of unity in the Congress in Rajasthan ahead of the assembly polls, senior party leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state Congress President Sachin Pilot on Wednesday announced that they will contest the December 7 assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Gehlot and Mr Pilot sought to dispel any impression of lack of unity in the Congress in Rajasthan.
Announcing the decision to contest assembly polls, Pilot said,"with the instructions of Congress president Rahul Gandhi and on Gehlotji's request, I have decided to contest the assembly elections.”
Dispelling the impression of lack of unity in the state unit, he said,"Cong mein Phoot wali Baatein khatam hongi (all' talk of division in the Congress will now stop). We all will together ensure a massive victory for the Congress in the upcoming polls."
