Ashes: Australia names 12-man squad for Lord's Test

Canberra, Aug 13 (UNI) Cricket Australia on Tuesday announced the 12-man squad for the 2nd Ashes Test against England starting at Lord's on August 14.
Australia picked pacers Josh Hazlewood and Mitch Starc and left out James Pattinson from the squad.
Pattinson was available for selection but with the tight schedule and his long injury history, the 29-year-old was given rest.
The first Test at Edgbaston was Pattinson's first Test in three-and-a-half years after suffering a series of devastating back injuries which led him to undergo radical surgery. He only took two wickets but scored a crucial 47 not out in the second innings of that match as Australia won by 251 runs.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc was the top wicket-taker in the 2019 Cricket World Cup but did not play the 1st Test at Edgbaston as he was recovering from a knee injury.
Squad:
Tim Paine (c/wk), David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
UNI XC AVK AKC 1812
