Asha Kumari appointed AICC in-charge of Punjab

Shimla, Jun 26 (UNI) Congress today appointed its Himachal MLA Asha Kumari as AICC secretary in charge of Punjab replacing Kamal Nath who stepped down a fortnight after AAP accused him of his objectionable role in the 1984 Sikh genocide in Delhi, sources said.
A party communique confirmed the development stating that Ms Kumari, an MLA from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh, has served the party in various positions.
Party spokesman Deepak Sunderiyal and State Convener of Congress Sewa Dall Mr Anurag Thakur greeted Ms Kumari for her new role.
