As India celebrates 150th anniv of Gandhi, community mobilisation should be our motto: PM

New Delhi, Aug 25(UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said as India will be celebrating Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's 150th anniversary, community mobilisation should reflect through 'each one o our deeds, in whatever work we do' as spirit of service was an inseparable
part of Mahatma's life.
In his Mann Ki Baat programme broadcast on All India Radio,Prime Minister Modi said India is preparing for a mega festival and the world is talking about it- 2nd October, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. '
The PM said the spirit of service has been an inseparable part of Mahatma Gandhi's life.
Mr Modi said Mahatma Gandhi had a special relation with truth and with service as well.
'Whosover needed Gandhiji's help, he was also present with his help.
The Prime Minister also announced that this year 'Swachchta Hi Seva' fortnight will be celebrated from September 11 this year.
In his 'Mann ki baat ', the PM alas gave call for a plastic free India.
'Along with an open defecation-free India, we should also be kick starting a mass movement for making India plastic-free,'the PM said.
He appealed to all to celebrate this year's Gandhi Jayanti by freeing Mother India of plastic.
