Panaji, Sep 21 (UNI) AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday paid his respects at the Basilica of Bom Jesus.
Arriving at 0930 hrs before his press conference, the Delhi Chief Minister visited the Basilica with leaders from AAP Goa.
He spent time in prayer and quiet contemplation at the Basilica.
Reverend Father Patricio briefly explained the history of the church to Mr Kejriwal and it's importance to Goa.
The Reverend Father also explained to Arvind Kejriwal about St Francis Xavier as well. He also visited the relics of St Francis and paid his respects. Father blessed Mr Kejriwal along with all the other leaders present with the blessing of the blessed sacrament and relics.
Mr Kejriwal then made his offerings and spent a few minutes in prayer and quiet contemplation in front of the blessed sacrament. He prayed for the peace, prosperity and progress of Goa.
After coming out of the Basilica Arvind Kejriwal, speaking to reporters, said,"Today I prayed for the well being of Goans and the wellbeing of the entire country, I also received blessing as well"
"Our Country is a Bouquet of different religions all of which live together peacefully in India. We have to preserve this fabric with love and unity."
