Arunachal Govt to launch ‘Football for School’ programme: CM

Itanagar, June 7 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday said that the State Government is going to launch the ‘Football for School’ programme, a first-of-its-kind initiative to promote the game in 200 schools of the state to groom budding talents in the age group of 6 to 13 years.
He said that there is no dearth of sporting talent in the state, and added that the youths just need the right training and right platform to perform at the highest levels.
With the next Olympic Games in mind, Khandu further said the Sports Department has been directed to shortlist fields specific to Arunachal Pradesh youths and train them for the biggest competition in the world.
