Arunachal govt to install smart monopoles

Itanagar, Sep 15 (UNI) In an effort to boost the network connectivity and to achieve the ‘Digital India Mission’ goals of the Government, the Power Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh is contemplating to install smart monopoles in select towns, preferably in the State Capital Complex or in the State Civil Secretariat here as an in-house connectivity on pilot basis.
The decision to this effect was taken by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who is also the Minister in-charge of Power Department, in a meeting with the officers of the department and the Indus Towers Limited, one of the largest telecommunication tower providers in the country, here this evening.
Mein opined that the monopole will boost digital revolution in the State as envisaged in the ‘Pradhan Mantri Digitalization Programme’ by the Govt of India. It will also boost State Govt’s digital programmes like online education, e-Governance, e-Office, etc. The main advantage of the monopole is that the citizens shall enjoy seamless network connectivity and lighting solutions as it will ensure better network connectivity, he said.
