Arunachal Governor suggests ‘measures’ to strengthen State Information Commission

Itanagar, Aug 9 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Information Commissioner Rinchin Dorjee, along with Information Commissioners Goto Ete, Genom Takseng and Gumjum Haider, on Tuesday called on Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here and apprised him of the “challenges” faced by the Commission.
During the meeting, the Governor suggested “various measures” to strengthen the State Information Commission and expressed hope that this constitutional office will assist in restraining corruption in public offices.
The Governor advised the Chief Information Commissioner and his team to conduct awareness campaigns on the Right to Information Act through State level workshops or seminars in the districts, sub-divisions, circles levels, so that the common people can fully utilise their rights.
