Arunachal Cyber Cell issues advisory for WhatsApp users, admins

Itanagar, Jun 4 (UNI) The Cyber Cell of Arunachal Pradesh police on Thursday issued an advisory for WhatsApp user and admin of such group regarding responsibilities they should take amid COVID-19 pandemic.
"It is being seen that there is a trend of circulation of misinformation/false news and sharing anonymous data related to Coronavirus in various social media platforms as well as instant messaging platforms, like WhatsApp creating panic among the public. We urge all citizens to not to post, share, forward, disseminate, any message, content, pictures or photos, videos anything that could cause panic among people and disrupt peace, tranquility and public order," the advisory issued by SP Cyber Cell Navdeep Singh Brar states.
The advisory further reads violations will be dealt with firmly as per law including arrest under the penal laws and appropriate action under the preventive sections of law.
