Subansiri Lower Project’s Unit-4 begins wet commissioning, marks major milestone

Itanagar, Apr 2 (UNI) The NHPC Ltd has achieved a significant milestone with the commencement of wet commissioning of Unit-4 (250 MW) of the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project on Tuesday last, marking the commencement of commissioning of the fourth unit of the country’s largest hydropower project.
The milestone was marked by the successful mechanical run of the unit, signalling the transition from construction to generation.
On the occasion, NHPC Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Bhupender Gupta expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power, Government of India, the Governments of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, former NHPC leadership, the Subansiri Project team, executing agencies, and all stakeholders.
