Arrest opposition leaders or dismiss IAS officer: Uttam

Arrest opposition leaders or dismiss IAS officer: Uttam

Hyderabad, Nov 17 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the affidavit filed by Principal Secretary (Transport) Sunil Sharma in the High Court on RTC strike issue wherein he alleged that the RTC unions have colluded with opposition parties to topple State Government.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Mr Reddy said that the content of affidavit filed by the senior IAS officer was highly objectionable and serious in nature. "If his allegations are true, then all opposition leaders should be arrested and jailed. If he is wrong, then he must be immediately dismissed from service for furnishing false information in the court," he demanded.

Mr Reddy said that the TRS Government has resorted to falsehood by submitting wrong and misleading information before the High Court on RTC issue multiple times. He said even the High Court has remarked that it had never such officials lying so much before the court. He said the recent allegations by a senior IAS have put the credibility of the High Court at stake and the Chief Justice must order a probe to know the truth.

He urged the Chief Justice to take cognizance of the matter and order a CBI or independent probe into the allegations levelled by IAS officer to unravel the truth. He said that the High Court must also enquire as whose instance the IAS officer has levelled such serious allegations. He said that the Congress party would raise the issue in the Parliament and also take up the issue with the Department of Personnel and Training.

Uttam Kumar Reddy ridiculed the allegation of opposition parties trying to topple the TRS Government. He said it was the TRS which engineered defection of 12 MLAs to deny Congress the status of main opposition.

He demanded that the RTC employees have performed duties in the month of September and they should be immediately paid for it. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was treating Telangana as his personal 'jagir' (fiefdom). It was KCR who announced that more than 48,000 employees were 'self dismissed' for not returning to duty on the deadline set by him. Then he tried to threaten the agitating workers by settling.
