Army XI beat Punjab Police in 'Sudden Death' shoot-out

Jalandhar, Oct 30 (UNI) Army XI maintained their winning spree beating defending champions Punjab Police 8-7 in the sudden death tie-breaker in the semi-final of the 35th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here this evening.
At the end of regulation period teams were locked 1-1. It was Army XI's third entry into the final. Earlier Army XI entered into the finals in 2016 and remained- runners up.
The semi-finals was played on very fast note. Army XI took lead in the 14th minute of the play when Bhushan Kujur scored a field goal from right flank (1-0).
