Army to investigate allegations about Shopian encounter: Spokesman

Srinagar, Aug 10 (UNI) In view of the allegations on social media questioning the Shopian encounter during which three unidentified militants were killed, a defence ministry spokesman on Monday evening said Army is investigating the matter.
Col Rajesh Kalia said we have noted social media inputs linked to the operation at Shopian on July 18, 2020.
The three militants killed during the operation have not been identified and the bodies were buried based on established protocol, he said.

Dehradun, Apr 19 (UNI) Uttarakhand has witnessed an average voter turnout of 24.83 per cent for five Lok Sabha seats till 11am on Friday,
Excluding the Nainital constituency, voting percentages in the other four constituencies have surpassed those of the 2019 elections within the same timeframe, which recorded 23.59 per cent turnout by Friday midday.
