Army rescue alleged thief from mob lynching in Nagaland

Kohima, Aug 23 (UNI) 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Naga Army camped in Tuensang town today rescued one alleged thief from the mob lynching in Tuensang town and handed over the accused person to the police.

According to a Defence Release today, the local people of Kudei Village in Tuensang gathered to give Street Justice to a local thief one Bendang Yimchunger aged 36, a resident of Sotokhor Village of the district, who was allegedly carrying out robbery in one of the local Pan Shop in the early morning hours today. The angry local mob tied up the individual to an electric pole and started beating him up very badly. As per the eyewitness the individual caught by locals had also done robbery in the past and locals were looking for him, to give him Street Justice.
