Army jawan cremated in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 31 (UNI) The mortal remains of martyred Army jawan Manoraj Shivaji Sonawane, who died while undergoing treatment at an army hospital, were consigned to flames with full military honours at his native village Manke in Malegaon tehsil of the district on Saturday evening.
Mr Sonawane, who was serving as a commando in Special Forces of the Indian Army, was on duty at the country's border in Arunachal Pradesh when his health deteriorated due to adverse weather conditions in the highlands. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday while undergoing treatment at army hospital.
Maharashtra Minister for Agriculture and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Dadaji Bhuse, additional superintendent of police Chandrakant Khandvi, deputy Mayor Nilesh Aher, Municipal Corporation's Standing Committee chairman Rajaram Jadhav, Panchayat Committee chairman Suvarna Desai, tehsildar Chandrajit Rajput, Group Development officer Jitendra Deore, Agricultural Produce Market Committee deputy chairman Sunil Deore, along with a large number of villagers were present the funeral and paid homage to the martyred jawan.
