Armed gang robs Rs 3.34 lakh after assaulting 2 TASMAC employees

Madurai, Aug 14 (UNI) In a daring act, a three-member armed gang attacked two salesmen of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) and robbed Rs 3.34 lakh at Keezhadi on the Madurai-Ramanathapuram highway here on Thursday night.
Police sources said on Friday that S.Rajendran, who was working as the salesman of TASMAC retail shop at suburban Silaiman was intercepted by three unidentified bike-borne robbers, when the former was riding his motorcycle with the cash in a bag.
The gang brandished a knife and threatened Rajendran to hand over the money. When he refused, the robbers attacked him with a beer bottle on his head. They also inflicted cut injuries on his hand.
