API among three held for accepting bribe in Mah

Aurangabad,Maharashtra,Nov 15(UNI) An Assistant Police Inspector (API) and two policemen attached with Waluj MIDC police station were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a scrap vendor, ACB sources said here on Friday.
According to them, the accused, identified as API Rahul Rode, sought Rs 80,000 bribe from the scrap vendor for not filling a case on charges of selling scraps illegally.
Reluctant to pay the bribe the vendor approached the ACB and registered a complaint against Mr Rode.
Based on the complaint, the ACB team laid a trap on Thursday midnight and caught the API red-handed along with two constables while accepting the bribe in presence of a witness.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and further investigation was underway, the sources added.
