AP: YSRCP alleges irregularities in procurement of equipment, demands suspension of tender

Vijayawada, Jan 19 (UNI) The Opposition YSRCP’s NTR district Doctors Wing alleged irregularities in procurement of vacuum extractor tender and demanded suspension of the tender and blacklisting of the supplier.
In a statement here on Monday, District Doctors Wing Chairman Dr.Ambati Naga Radhakrishna Yadav emphasized for accountability and corrective action in APMSIDC Vacuum Extractor Tender overpricing scandal.
He said that the recent media reports exposed the Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) in a grave procurement irregularity, having approved a rate contract with Visakha Healthcare limited for 230 vacuum extractors at Rs 3,13,598 per unit, totalling Rs 7.21 crore, despite verifiable benchmarks from manufacturer Medisil's supply to Hyderabad's Gandhi Medical College Hospital at Rs 1.04 lakh per unit and 2021-22 Telangana tenders at Rs 1.15-1.25 lakh, revealing an unacceptable overpricing of Rs 2,09,598 per unit and a staggering Rs 4.82 crore excess for the lot, equivalent to over 67% wastage of precious public health resources.
