AP: Social activist commences fast demanding election to Kakinada Corporation

Kakinada, Nov 4 (UNI) Social activist Dusarlapudi Ramanaraju has commenced a hunger strike in front of the Collectorate here on Monday evening, demanding election to the Kakinada municipal corporation within five months and to complete the merger of eight villages pending for the past 14 years.
He said the Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan, who represents Pithapuram constituency, should respond and announce a decision on his demand.
He told media persons that Rs 60 crores of Finance Commission funds could not be utilized and sent back due to the delay in merger of surrounding villages in the municipal corporation.
