AP needs more Astro Trufs for hockey players: Governor

Vijayawada, Nov 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradsh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said that Andhra Pradesh is in need of more ‘Modern Infrastructure’ like Astro Turfs, new Stadiums, “Centres of Excellence” Hockey Academies for hockey players.
The Governor participated as the Chief Guest at the 5th Hockey Andhra Pradesh Annual & State Hockey Awards Celebrations at the Beckman Auditorium in the campus of Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district, near here on Sunday.
“There appears to be not a single Astro Turf in the whole State of AP for the players to practice. Odisha, the neighboring State, has around Eight Modern Turf Hockey Pitches and Ten Hockey Academies and is a leading hockey playing and promoting State.
