AP Minister launches Sri City’s new job portal

Sri City (Chittoor district), Aug 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance Buggana Rajendranath Reddy launched Sri City’s new online portal providing single window facility for job seekers and employers here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy while appreciating the proactive initiatives of Sri City expressed a hope that Jobseekers, henceforth, could directly search for job opportunities in the city suiting their skills by browsing the portal online.
The portal features job vacancies in Sri City units.
Candidates looking for an apprenticeship programme, internship, employment can register in this portal and upload their resume. Industrial units would be able to see the uploaded resume.
As the portal shows the level of skill relevance to jobs, even those now employed can see areas where they can get better opportunities.
The Portal includes 'Frequently Asked Queries & Answers', that clarify the general doubts of users and gradually more features would be added to the portal to make it more friendly to industry and entrepreneurs.
Briefing on the portal, Sri City Founder Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said,''We have developed this portal to serve as an online recruitment platform that helps companies find right candidates, and aims to provide job seekers with a smarter and faster way to find the right opportunities. We hope the unemployed in this region will find it handy.''
Earlier, the Minister while addressing the CEOs and the Senior Managers about the proposed skill development University and seeking inputs, appreciated the growth of Sri City and said, ''It is one of the successful and most efficiently managed business cities in the country, and it is our duty to support it in all respects.''
The Minister said that to bridge the gap between the students skills and industry needs the government took up an active programme of setting up skill development centres in the state.
For providing special skills to students, he mentioned that the industry-government partnership will certainly yield better results.
He requested the participants to give inputs in the form of brief reports regarding the specific needs of manpower and the required skills, so that the government initiative can take shape on a sustainable model.
Before visiting IIIT, the Minister and his entourage went round the industrial park and visited the factory and the training centre of Thermax company.
AP Government Principal Secretary (Finance ) Shamsher Singh Rawat, APSSDC CEO and IRTS Managing Director Arja Srikanth and Chittoor District Collector Narayana Bharath Gupta was also present in the meeting.
