AP Minister interacts with Covid infected prisoners in Rajahmundry Central Jail

Kakinada, Aug 9(UNI) Minister for Backward classes’ welfare Chelluboyina Venugopalakrishna has visited the Rajahmundry central prison on Sunday along with the district Collector Muralidhar Reddy and interacted with the prisoners infected by Covid on the medical treatment extended to them.
The Ministers visit has attained importance in the backdrop of over 200 prisoners and Jail staff got infected by the Covid and the relatives of the prisoners expressing concern over their condition.
After making discrete inquiries with the covid infected prisoners on the medical treatment and diet ,the Minister told media persons that there was no need to alarm as the government made special arrangement in the Central prison itself to treat the covid infected .He said adequate medicines also being made available to the infected along with special nutritious diet under medical specialists supervision .
